Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that overall brightens the look of your smile through an oxidation process. When paired with our high quality LED light that helps speed up the process, the deeper stains within your teeth start to break down, creating a whiter smile! This is something that at home products cannot do. At Glow Haven, we use clean and effective whitening gels, to give you safe, natural, longer lasting results.

Sessions last about 70 minutes for 1 client and 90 minutes for 2 clients.

During your session, you will be greeted and settled in to one of our comfy recliners. We will go over your client intake form which includes medical, dental and whitening history. We will also address your goals, timeline, sensitivity concerns and evaluate the type/extent of stain, to help determine what kind of whitening gels to use on you. We will start with before photos, get your starting shade and then have you do a quick pre-brush with our exfoliating toothpaste to prep for the procedure. A gum barrier will be placed to protect your gums from the whitening gels. You will then get 2 rounds of whitening gel applied, 15 minutes each, with our LED light. You can choose between our regular glasses or heated eye mask. At the end, you will rinse and we will get after photos and ending shade. We will then place a desensitizing gel at the end. You will receive an essential oil towelette to clean up and a take home maintenance bag if you are a new client. All new clients will receive a complimentary whitening maintenance/extension pen to take home.

Our gels are formulated to help minimize any sensitivity. We have a special desensitizing gel we place at the end of every session. Clients should not experience any sensitivity during the treatment, but if you have any, then it usually occurs later that night or the next day and it is short-lived and typically very minor. We have gentle gel options for those that have a high concern for sensitivity. Make sure to let us know and we can adjust your treatment and the strength of gels to help. Some things that can increase the likelihood of sensitivity are any cracks or chips in the teeth, untreated cavities, recession, etc.

Most clients will see results of 4-8 shades whiter after just 1 session, but all results will vary depending on the client. Factors such as diet, lifestyle habits, genetics, enamel thickness, age, type of stains and starting shade all impact the results. Everyone has their own natural stopping point when whitening. Some can get to a brighter shade than others naturally.

Some clients need only 1 session of whitening to achieve their brightest shade, while others will need 2 sessions. Most of the time this will not be able to be determined beforehand, but through a consult at the beginning of your appointment, we can go over some reasons why a 2nd appointment might be needed. At Glow Haven, we focus on safe, natural, effective results! The whitening process is different for everyone. We customize treatments for every session.

Results typically last about 6 months, with fading starting to happen around 3-4 months. It is very dependent on the client’s lifestyle and eating/drinking/oral hygiene habits. Some people come every 6 months, but frequent coffee/tea/wine drinkers or those who smoke, it is recommended every 3-4 months. Having an at home maintenance plan can help results to last longer between sessions. Glow Haven has a whitening toothpaste for $14 and an at home whitening pen for $26 to easily incorporate into your daily routine at home. You can ask about it during your appointment.

Any restorations done at the dentist, will not whiten like your natural teeth. If there is superficial staining, then that will be removed, but it will not whiten past the original color they were put in. If your restorations are a good color match to your teeth right now, I would not recommend any whitening. If they are brighter than your natural teeth, then whitening can help them match better. It is recommended to whiten at least 4 weeks before you plan to get any dental work done or replaced.

Teeth whitening is an overall very safe procedure, with little side effects. At Glow Haven, we use enamel safe, high quality gels.

If you are pregnant, we recommend postponing any whitening treatments, unless you ask your OBGYN and they say it’s okay for you. Then, we leave it up to you to decide if you want to whiten. There have been no studies done on pregnant women to tell if it is safe or harmful.

If you are breastfeeding, we leave it up to you to decide if you want to whiten.

For best results, it is highly recommended, to avoid any stain causing foods/beverages for 24 hours after whitening, as well as anything super cold/hot or acidic (which can cause a little more sensitivity). These can include coffee, tea, wine, soda, red sauces, dark berries, smoking, etc. You can eat right after your appointment, but stick to light colored foods/beverages and drink through a straw.

You will be provided with a take home whitening maintenance/extension pen as a first time client. For existing clients, this will be offered for purchase. It is always recommended to do a maintenance at home to help your results last longer. This can include whitening toothpastes, strips, etc and needs to be done consistently or routinely to be effective. Glow Haven has a whitening toothpaste ($14) and a whitening pen ($26) available for purchase after your session is completed.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least a 24 hour notice or your deposit may not be refundable.

Do you require a deposit to book?

Yes, we require a $50 deposit to book any service and it will be applied toward your service total.

Do you offer group or event bookings?

Yes, we can do bridal parties, birthdays, weddings, etc and group discounts are available! We can whiten 2 clients at a time. Please reach out through our “Whitening Parties” tab at the top of our website to let us know about your event!

Can I bring someone with me to whiten together?

Yes of course! We can see 2 clients at the same time and you each will get a $25 discount! Book our Glow Together Experience.
